Choosing the Right Necklace for Different Necklines

The placement of a necklace could make or break an entire outfit. Just like there are colours that work well together, there are necklace designs which work better with specific necklines.

Here are a few guidelines to bear in mind while you are shopping:

V Neck: A v neck top would be flattering on many body types. To accessorize, find a necklace which imitates the shape of this versatile neckline. This might be made using subtle and shorter pendants or by using longer chains to prolong the elongating impact of the t-shirts design. Can’t decide on a necklace length? Try layering a short and a long necklace together!

Scoop Neck: Look for bracelets which may fill the empty space while after the formation of the neckline. Make sure to adjust the span so that the necklace falls above or below the neckline.

Turtleneck: These are ideal for long necklaces. Shorter designs coupled with turtlenecks could make it look like you are suffocating. Longer chains open and elongate the ensemble, making a glorious mix!

Collars: Collars that match provide two very different options with regards to accessorizing. Option one is to button the top all the way up and add a stunning statement bit over the top and under the collar. The second option is to start the buttons and accessorize from within the collar with a necklace that is subtle, or, for a different look try out adding a necklace using striking length! A good general guideline here's to make sure the necklace falls over the top button intentionally further below it.

Crew Neck: These higher necklines can be tricky. Long necklaces work well on crew necks. You may also shorten a bolder, bulkier design to allow it fall parallel to all the neckline of all the top.

Square Neck: A scooped necklace fits beautifully interior this striking neckline. Ensure that necklace you select sits above the neckline!

Cowl Neck: Since all the cowl neck is already designed to stand on its own, lighter is better. Necklaces worn using a cowl neck should always hit over the neckline. This design is also an excellent opportunity to rock those oversized, striking earrings and let all the fabric of all the top stand alone.

Strapless: A strapless design leaves a bigger canvas to work with. That is an excellent opportunity to try out a bulkier, bolder statement bit or a choker.
Tip: Keep the rings simple to avoid competing and clashing combinations.

Boat Neck: As using the crew neck, these higher necklines work great with longer necklaces. You may also layer using shorter pieces to include bulk to your outfit. As always, when accessorizing, make sure you are comfortable.
